Our client is on the hunt for a dynamic and driven Assistant Vice President to join their Fund Operations group. If you're a financial reporting expert with a passion for investment funds, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

As the AVP, you'll be responsible for overseeing all financial reporting matters relating to the investment fund lineup, as well as assisting with tax reporting, fund budgeting, and other fund administration responsibilities. Our client is looking for someone who is proactive, flexible, and able to manage multiple activities and deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the year-end and semi-annual financial reporting process, ensuring compliance with accounting standards
• Manage all vendors as they relate to the financial reporting process, building strong relationships and ensuring timely delivery of services
• Review accounting entries and fund expense budgets, identifying opportunities for improvement and cost savings
• Assist with the monthly and year-end tax reporting process, ensuring accurate and timely distribution calculations, tax slips and tax returns
• Provide support for new fund launches, mergers, rollovers and wind downs, working closely with portfolio managers and senior business leads

Requirements:

• 3+ years of investment fund operations experience, with a focus on financial reporting
• University degree in accounting or finance
• CPA designation would be an asset
• Solid knowledge of the investment fund industry and familiarity with various asset classes
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills – ability to interact at any level within and outside the organization, including portfolio managers, senior business leads and executive management
• Strong project and time management skills, with ability to set and maintain priorities in a dynamic, fast paced environment
