An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and organised individual to join a global private bank and asset management team as an Associate in Operations. The successful candidate will be instrumental in assisting with day-to-day responsibilities within the operations team, including cash reconciliation, communication with other departments, support trade settlements, cash holdings reconciliation, account opening procedures, and tax-related tasks.

What you'll do:

As an Associate in Operations, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the smooth running of our operations team. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in daily operational tasks such as cash reconciliation, supporting trade settlements, managing account opening procedures, and handling tax-related tasks. You will be expected to provide comprehensive explanations for any discrepancies or issues (outages) that arise and collaborate effectively with other teams to resolve these swiftly. Your strong problem-solving skills will be crucial in this role. Additionally, your understanding of the trade cycle and market regulation will be essential in supporting trade settlements. You will also manage account opening procedures efficiently while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Lastly, your role will involve handling various tax-related tasks which require meticulous attention to detail.

  • Assist in daily operational responsibilities including cash reconciliation ensuring custodian records are correct and all cash payments are allocated appropriately.
  • Provide comprehensive explanations for all outages and solve them through collaboration with other operations employees, trading department, and custodian operations employee.
  • Support trade settlements by understanding the trade cycle and market regulation, working with brokers and custodians to resolve unmatched trades.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of cash holdings between custodian and internal database, identifying outages and correcting as necessary.
  • Manage account opening procedures including opening/closing client accounts.
  • Prepare and audit tax packages, proofing data, preparing and auditing T3, T5, T5008, NR4 forms, reviewing and remitting non-resident withholding taxes monthly.

Lastly, your general understanding of the investment operations environment will be instrumental in executing your duties effectively.
