Senior Corporate Accountant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Corporate Accountant to join a leading and rapidly expanding private markets investment firm. This role, based in the vibrant city of Toronto, offers the chance to work within an inclusive and dynamic team, focused on sourcing, evaluating and managing private market investments.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage in a broad range of activities, including day-to-day corporate accounting functions, financial statement processes and regulatory reporting.

What you'll do:

  • Assist in day-to-day corporate accounting functions, which includes processing cash payments for various entities
  • Prepare daily cash flow reporting, reconciliation and related journal entries
  • Complete monthly, quarterly and annual Financial Statement processes, comprising journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Analyse general ledger activity, address transactional accounting inquiries and resolve discrepancies
  • Support with quarterly regulatory reporting (OSC/FCA) and indirect tax filings (HST/GST/VAT)
  • Prepare schedules and working papers for year-end audit and tax files
  • Assist in the preparation of legal entity financial statements for tax purposes
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects as required

What you bring:

  • Minimum of 4 years of corporate accounting and reporting experience
  • Professional accounting designation is required
  • Industry experience in financial services, asset management or accounting firms is preferred
  • Technical excellence with accounting software, with advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
  • Experience working with Sage 300 ERP Premium Version 2023 & Investran system is considered an asset
  • Strong analytical skills, superior attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Demonstrates professionalism and integrity
  • Strong ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple competing deliverables
  • Proactive approach to problem solving and supporting continuous improvement
  • A team player with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
