Senior Manager, Finance
Our client is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable candidate for their Financial Reporting team. This role is pivotal in executing the organisation’s accounting strategy, preparing and reviewing Management and Statutory reports in compliance with Canadian GAAP.
The successful candidate will ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial information provided to local and corporate management, regulators, and external auditors. This position demands a strong understanding of financial controls, regulatory requirements, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under significant time pressure.
What you'll do:
- Prepare financial reports for internal reporting for the region and headquarters, and external and regulatory reporting, ensuring they are accurate and timely
- Maintain general ledgers for the Canadian, and overseas jurisdictions, and account keys for all products.
- Coordinate with auditors for the audit of the bank’s financial statements and tax returns.
- Reconcile various sub-ledgers to the general ledger daily.
- Prepare various taxation working papers and returns.
- Develop, maintain, and review all risk KRIs and measurement methodologies.
- Assist in updating and maintaining policy and procedure manuals.
What you bring:
- University graduate with CPA designation or equivalent is a must have; MBA qualifications will be highly regarded.
- Minimum of 5 years work experience from a financial institution and the big 4 accounting firms is a must. Non financial services industry experience will not be considered.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian GAAP/IFRS is a must have.
- High proficiency in excel with strong modelling skills is a must, with VBA skills well regarded.
- Demonstrated experience in regulatory reporting to OFSI or Bank of Canada is a must with an understanding of banking legislations, regulations, guidelines governing banking in Canada.
- Knowledge of banking products, credit and lending practices.
- Strong analytical skills, excellent writing skills with presentation skills.
- Good time management with ability to multitask, prioritize workflows, meet deadlines.
- Full Canadian working rights are a must.
