Fund Accountant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a seasoned Fund Accountant to join a leading-edge asset management company based in Toronto, Ontario. This role offers the chance to lead the Fund Accounting function, ensuring consistent, accurate and timely delivery of operations and investment administration services for all funds. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to bring best practices to the company and provide value-added improvements to existing processes.

What you'll do:

• Provide timely and accurate fund performance measurement and reporting
• Prepare and manage financial reporting for private investments
• Oversee all general ledger activities related to the investment portfolio
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation and reporting of Funds’ statutory financial statements and regulatory requirements
• Reconcile fund accounts with administrator records daily
• Monitor expenses accrued by the funds
• Stay updated on market and regulatory developments affecting fund administration
• Lead or assist with ad hoc projects as necessary

What you bring:

• University graduate with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree
• At least 2 years experience in fund accounting/operations/investment administration
• Working towards CPA or CFA designation
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Strong organisational and planning skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with specialized investment software (e.g., Neovest, Bloomberg) is a plus
