Senior Manager Investment Operations

An exceptional opportunity for an experienced Senior Manager Investment Operations to join a respected private investment management firm in Toronto. You will play a pivotal part in ensuring operational excellence across all facets of investment operations, from trade operations, fund accounting, investment data management to vendor relationships, and act as a key liaison with custodians, brokers, and fund partners.

This is a full time, permanent role with a hybrid working environment, with offices in downtown Toronto.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee investment operations including trade support, financial reporting, performance measurement and fund accounting.
• Lead and inspire a team of investment operations professionals.
• Act as the primary relationship contact for custodians, fund administrators, brokers, and private fund partners to maintain strong external partnerships.
• Ensure full accountability for custody-related activities involving funds and client segregated accounts.
• Support annual fund audits by collaborating with external auditors and administrators to deliver accurate documentation and timely responses.
• Review investment onboarding documents and provide valuable insights to inform critical decision-making by the investment management team.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives that build scale within the department and increase overall organisational efficiency.

Key Requirements:

• A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in fund accounting with demonstrated advancement ideally up to manager level within reputable financial institutions or asset managers.
• At least 5-7 years of hands-on experience managing custody services with proven responsibility for both funds and client segregated accounts at a managerial capacity.
• A successful track record leading transformation or change initiatives within investment operations resulting in measurable improvements.
• Familiarity with Infinite Systems 'Harmony' platform is considered an asset.
• Proven ability to thrive in small team settings where adaptability, open communication, and mutual support are essential for collective achievement.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills allowing you to communicate effectively with stakeholders across portfolio management, operations, client advisory teams, and external partners alike.
• Demonstrated capability in coaching or mentoring teams.
• A detail-oriented approach combined with strong organisational skills.
