Director, Tax and Corporate Accounting (Private Equity)

Our client is a well-established investment management firm that is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Director of Tax and Corporate Accounting. This role offers the opportunity to lead all aspects of tax compliance and corporate accounting, ensuring the highest standards of stakeholder responsiveness, quality, and data accuracy.

What you'll do:

• Oversee the preparation, analysis, and filing for all Canadian and US corporate and partnership tax returns
• Forecast and pay tax installments, determine entity dividend distributions, and maintain safe income computations
• Research and prepare tax memos and recommendations for entity deals in coordination with external consultants
• Oversee Corporate Accounting Team preparation of all necessary financial statements and annual audits
• Assist Corporate Controller in managing firm cash liquidity and processing of all A/R and A/P operations of the organization
• Monitor overall company systems, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for process improvement

What you bring:

• 10+ years of relevant professional experience with a minimum of 8 years of direct Canadian Corporate and Partnership Tax experience
• At least 5 years in financial and accounting management
• Completion of CPA in-depth Tax Course
• Exceptional knowledge of Canadian GAAP; Experience with US GAAP an asset
• Commodity tax experience (GST/HST/SLFI) an asset
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
