Director, Finance - Banking

A reputed global bank with a strong and growing footprint in Toronto is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to join their team. Reporting into the C-suite this role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and growth-oriented environment, collaborating with local and global teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a small team and oversee all aspects of financial reporting and accounting
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and regulatory reports
• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the bank's global objectives
• Liaise with offices in the US and global headquarters to ensure consistency in reporting and compliance with international standards
• Drive process improvements and implement best practices, partake in initiatives as per business needs

Qualifications and experience:

• Minimum 12 years of experience in leading financial reporting and accounting, with a focus on the banking industry
• Demonstrated experience from the top accounting firms and a bank is mandatory
• CPA Canada designation required
• Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams
• Strong understanding of international financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements in the banking sector
• Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels
• Full working rights as a Canadian citizen or permanent resident are required
