Controller

Our client is on the hunt for a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join their team in Burlington, Ontario. This is an in-office position. The successful candidate will be reporting to the U.S Based VP Finance, Finance Manager, and SR. Director Human Resources. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a company that travels the globe in search of inspiration for their unique floor designs.

What you'll do:

• Maintain accurate financial records and accounting systems using Great Plains.
• Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends, and areas for improvement.
• Handle accounts payable function.
• Manage accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
• Create the Canadian company’s budgeting and forecasting process.
• Conduct financial analysis and modeling to support decision-making and strategic planning.
• Review and approve expenses, ensuring compliance with company policies and guidelines.
• Coordinate and oversee the annual external audit process.
• Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• Chartered Professional Accountant designation is highly preferred.
• Five or more years of relevant experience in accounting or finance required including supervisory or management experience is required.
• Human Resources experience is required.
• Computer skills such as Great Plains, Concur, Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel are essential.
• Knowledge of IFRS reporting standards and tax regulations are also necessary.
