SENIOR COUNSEL - REAL ESTATE

Salary: Competitive and based on experience
Location: Toronto

Our client is Private Equity firm focused on the Real Estate sector and is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel with a focus on real estate. This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, managing all legal aspects of their real estate transaction activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing legal risks arising from various strategic initiatives and providing practical, risk-analysed advice on issues arising from the company's various businesses and affairs.


What you'll do:

* Manage all legal aspects of commercial and residential real estate acquisition & dispositions
* Lead and provide oversight on the structuring, negotiating, and drafting of joint ventures, financings, leases, and other operative agreements
* Manage the legal aspects of real estate development and property management business
* Provide practical and risk analysed advice on issues arising from various businesses and affairs
* Advise on and negotiate commercial agreements, including major supplier agreements
* Provide support on a wide range of Legal Department priorities and initiatives


What you bring:

* Experience and knowledge of real estate transactions, leasing, financings, and real estate development or property management
* Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and transaction documents
* Credibility to interact with senior team members and executives internally and externally
* Superior problem-solving skills and legal judgment
* Strong organizational skills with an ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
* Adaptability with a pragmatic approach to legal issues
