IT Operations Manager

Our client is the largest developer of rental properties across Canada. We are looking for IT Operations Manager to join the team to lead end-to-end IT service management processes, drive the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of IT services, optimizing processes to align with business and user needs.

Please note: this role is located in midtown Toronto and the work format is 5 days a week in the office.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a clear IT roadmap aligned with the organization's overall business goals, based on the internal team's strategic objectives and challenges.
  • Recommend new solutions, software and processes to meet emerging requirements and industry best practices, as well as oversee the maintenance, upgrading and security of the company’s IT system.
  • Integrate and optimize various software and technology, including property management systems, construction systems, HR, and accounting tools.
  • Develop and maintain robust system backups, disaster recovery plans, and data security protocols.
  • Deliver exceptional IT support with a strong customer service mindset by overseeing daily operations, managing inbound requests and prioritizing incidents.
  • Support the onboarding of new employees, ensuring they are effectively set up for their first day and participating in the IT orientation session weekly.
  • Manage corporate mobile phone plan and assist in the maintenance of the company Intranet.
  • Design and offer training related to IT processes and technologies.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain IT support processes and procedures to improve and optimize efficiency and customer satisfaction via establishing, monitoring, and analyzing performance metrics of IT requests.
  • Oversee IT asset management, inventory, purchases and budget, including all hardware, software, licensing, and contracts.
  • Managing relationships with IT service providers and vendors, ensuring alignment to IT objectives, delivery of contracted services, and that vendors meet performance expectations.
  • Lead and guide a small team of IT Specialists, providing mentorship and aligning team efforts with organizational goals.
  • Required travel to the company's properties and sites (only 5-10% outside the GTA).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT Operations with demonstrated team leadership and coaching skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional IT projects with solid financial understanding to monitor overall IT spend and assess business activities and costs.
  • Previous experience in 1st line support or Help Desk roles.
  • Strong ITSM process knowledge, including enterprise change management and operations.
  • Excellent communication skills with strong work ethic and ability to multitask, manage stress during periods of intense activity, and handle high-pressure periods and diverse tasks.
  • Strong analytical skills for translating business needs into technology solutions, metrics, and services.
