Senior Accountant (Real Estate) *12 month-Contract

A contract opportunity for a Senior Accountant has opened with our client, a well-established investment firm in Toronto's commercial real estate sector. This is a 12-month maternity leave coverage role. You’ll join a lean, high-performing accounting team responsible for managing the full-cycle financial reporting for a portfolio of real estate assets across Canada and the U.S.

In this role, you will:

• Oversee the accounting and funding process for acquired/foreclosed properties
• Coordinate construction draws and funding requests
• File HST returns and ensure accurate maintenance of property-level records
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements
• Lead financial reporting for Canadian and U.S. tax filings, including T3 and T5013 slips
• Support audit preparation and liaise with external auditors
• Manage wire payments, cash forecasting, and monthly bank reconciliations
  
  

About you:

• Minimum 3 years’ progressive accounting experience, ideally in real estate or asset management
• CPA designated or actively pursuing
• Experience with Canadian and U.S. tax compliance and filings
• Strong Excel proficiency; experience with Yardi is a plus
• Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines without much oversight
