Our Client is seeking an experienced Corporate Counsel for their Employment & Labour group. This is a unique opportunity to join a collaborative and team-centred legal department, providing crucial support in labour and employment law matters. Based in Mississauga, this full-time role offers the chance to work alongside a knowledgeable and supportive team, contributing significantly to cross-functional initiatives through the provision of legal and business advice.

What you'll do:

  • Provide guidance in the area of labour law to various business partners
  • Prepare pleadings and other legal documents for administrative and labour matters
  • Support in the area of employment law by preparing agreements, policies and related documents
  • Identify potential legal and regulatory issues and partner with necessary business units for solutions
  • Provide legal and business advice for cross-functional initiatives
  • Manage external counsel effectively when engaged

What you bring:

  • Minimum 8 years of labour law experience at a leading law firm or in-house legal department
  • Membership in good standing with the Ontario or British Columbia Law Society
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands effectively
  • Strong business acumen and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of French would be an asset
