Robert Walters welcomed professionals from a range of industries to Momofuku at the Shangri La Hotel to mark the official launch of their Toronto offices.

Originally a native of Toronto, Martin gained experience with Robert Walters recruiting professionals in Ireland, the UK and the Middle East before establishing the Canadian offices of the company in 2016.
"We believe the contingent specialist recruitment market is underdeveloped for a global city of this size. In addition, our non-commission based business model is extremely different to the vast majority of local recruitment firms which we believe will allow us to offer a much more consultative approach to contingent recruitment for both candidates and clients alike.”
Martin Fox was joined by Janet Ecker, President of the TFSA and Kevin McGurgan, British Consul General & Director-General for the International Trade British Consulate in Toronto.
Janet Ecker shared her thoughts on the rise of Toronto as a financial services centre for North America, noting in particular the strong growth in the number of people employed in the industry. She went on to highlight how recruitment consultancies like Robert Walters can play a vital role in helping to sustain this growth, connecting employers and highly skilled professionals around the world.
Kevin McGurgan also addressed guests, commenting on the role of the consulate and how Britain's relationship with Canada is evolving as Britain negotiates its exit from the European Union.
"It's a great honour to have Janet and Kevin join us to speak to our guests. Their support and advice has been invaluable in helping to launch the business in Canada," Martin added.
Robert Walters Toronto office currently specialises in recruiting accounting professionals into roles with financial services businesses, with plans over the next year to expand into sourcing staff for non-financial services clients as well professionals in other disciplines including legal, compliance and risk.
